What is schema?
Schema: The blueprint of a database: which tables exist, their columns and data types, keys, constraints and relationships. In some systems a schema is also a named namespace that groups tables. Changing it later requires care because live data must stay valid.
Schema: an example
The schema says orders has order_id (integer, primary key), customer_id (foreign key) and amount (numeric, NOT NULL).
