What is DBMS?
DBMS (also called Database management system): Database management system: the software that stores data on disk, answers queries, enforces rules, controls who may access what, and recovers after crashes. Applications talk to it instead of touching data files directly. PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite are common examples.
DBMS: an example
Your Python service sends a query to PostgreSQL, which finds the rows, checks permissions and returns results, while also logging changes for crash recovery.
