What is percentile?
Percentile: A value below which a given percentage of observations or of a distribution's probability lies. It is a quantile expressed on a 0 to 100 scale and is widely used for ranking and for describing tail latency.
Percentile: an example
A score at the 95th percentile beats 95% of test takers; a p99 latency of 800 ms means 99% of requests are faster.
