What is cluster sampling?
Cluster sampling: A design that divides the population into natural groups, randomly picks some whole groups and observes everyone in them. It is cheaper for spread-out populations but usually less precise than a simple random sample of the same size.
Cluster sampling: an example
To study schools, a researcher randomly picks 20 schools and surveys every student in them.
