What is strides?
Strides: The number of bytes NumPy must skip in memory to move one step along each axis of an array. They explain how views, slices and transposes can reinterpret the same data without copying it, and why the order in which you loop over an array affects speed.
Strides: an example
For a C-ordered float64 array of shape (3, 4), strides are (32, 8): 8 bytes to the next column and 32 to the next row.
