What is log scale?
Log scale (also called logarithmic scale): An axis on which equal distances represent equal ratios rather than equal differences, so each step is a multiplication by the same factor. It is used when values span many orders of magnitude, or to make exponential growth appear as a straight line.
Log scale: an example
Plotting company revenues from 1 crore to 10,000 crore on a log axis keeps both small and large companies visible.
