What is axes?
Axes (also called Axes object, ax): The single plotting area inside a Matplotlib figure, holding the x and y axis lines, ticks, labels and the drawn data. A figure can contain many of them. Calling plotting methods on this object is the recommended object-oriented style, as it is explicit about where each chart goes.
Axes: an example
ax.plot(x, y); ax.set_xlabel('Month') draws a line and labels the horizontal axis on that specific plot area.
