What is NVMe?
NVMe: A protocol for talking to solid-state drives directly over the PCIe bus, designed for flash so that many requests can be handled in parallel. It gives far higher throughput and lower delay than older SATA connections.
NVMe: an example
A cloud instance with local NVMe disks can feed training data to GPUs faster than one using network-attached disks.
