What is SSD (solid-state drive)?
Solid-state drive (also called SSD): A storage device that keeps data in flash memory chips with no moving parts, so it reads and writes much faster than a spinning disk and is more shock resistant. It is standard in modern laptops and cloud servers.

Loading a large dataset from an SSD can take seconds, where the same file on an older hard disk might take a minute.
