What is one-vs-rest?
One-vs-rest (also called One-vs-all): A strategy that handles many classes with a binary classifier by training one model per class, each separating that class from all others combined. At prediction time the model reporting the highest confidence decides the label.
One-vs-rest: an example
For 10 digit classes, train 10 classifiers; the '7 vs everything else' model returns the highest score for a handwritten 7.
