What is principal component?
Principal component: One of the new axes found in dimensionality reduction, given as a direction in the original feature space. The first captures the most variation, the second the most remaining variation at right angles to it, and so on.
Principal component: an example
For height and weight data, the first axis roughly points along overall body size.
