What is catBoost?
CatBoost: A gradient boosting library from Yandex designed to handle categorical features well by encoding them with ordered statistics computed without target leakage. It uses symmetric trees and often gives good results with little tuning.
CatBoost: an example
Passing cat_features=['city','plan_type'] lets CatBoost encode text columns directly without one-hot encoding.
