What is optimisation problem?
Optimisation problem (also called Mathematical optimisation): The task of finding inputs that make some quantity as small or as large as possible, possibly subject to rules the inputs must obey. Training a model, planning delivery routes or allocating an ad budget can all be posed this way.
Optimisation problem: an example
Choose how many of 3 delivery vans to send to each of 5 areas in Bengaluru so total travel time is minimised.
