What is retention rate?
Retention rate (also called user retention): The percentage of users who continue to use a product over a given period after starting, often shown as cohort curves. Strong retention suggests real value; for AI products it shows whether novelty has worn off.
Retention rate: an example
Of 500 users who joined in January, 200 are still active in March, a two-month retention rate of 40%.
