What is right to erasure?
Right to erasure (also called right to be forgotten): The right of a person, in certain circumstances, to have their personal data deleted by an organisation. It is set out in the GDPR, and India's DPDP Act gives a comparable right to have data erased. For AI systems it raises hard questions about data already used to train models.
Right to erasure: an example
A user closes her account and asks the company to delete her profile, order history and chat transcripts from its systems.
