What is prediction interval?
Prediction interval: A range that is expected to contain a future observation with a stated probability, such as 95 percent. It is wider than a confidence interval for the mean because it includes both model uncertainty and random noise, and it widens with the horizon.
Prediction interval: an example
Forecast 1,000 orders with 95 percent interval 900 to 1,120.
