What is rankNet?
RankNet: A neural pairwise ranking method that models the probability that item i should rank above item j as a sigmoid of the difference in their scores, and trains with cross-entropy on preference pairs.
RankNet: an example
P(i above j) = 1 / (1 + exp(-(s_i - s_j))); with scores 2.0 and 1.0 it is 0.73.
