What is lambdaMART?
LambdaMART: A widely used ranking algorithm that combines gradient boosted trees with LambdaRank gradients, which scale pairwise updates by how much swapping two items would change a list metric such as NDCG. It is a strong baseline for search and recommendation ranking.

Implementations exist in libraries such as XGBoost and LightGBM with a ranking objective.
