What is population parameter?
Population parameter: A fixed but usually unknown number that describes a whole population, such as its average or its proportion. Because it cannot be observed directly, it is approximated from sample data.
Population parameter: an example
The true share of all Indian smartphone users who use UPI is a parameter; a survey of 2,000 users only approximates it.
