What is bayesian inference?
Bayesian inference: An approach that treats parameters as uncertain quantities described by probability distributions, updating a prior belief with observed data via Bayes' theorem to get a posterior belief. It gives direct probability statements about parameters.
Bayesian inference: an example
Start with a prior about a conversion rate, observe 30 conversions in 500 visits, and update to a posterior centred near 6 percent.
