What is materialized view?
Materialized view: A view whose query result is physically stored and refreshed on demand or on a schedule. Reads are fast because the work is precomputed, but the data can be stale between refreshes.
Materialized view: an example
A materialized view holding daily sales per city, refreshed every night, serves a dashboard without re-scanning millions of orders.
