What is atomicity?
Atomicity: The ACID property that a transaction's changes happen entirely or not at all. If any step fails, everything done so far is undone, so the database never shows half-finished work.
Atomicity: an example
If the second of two UPDATE statements in a money transfer fails, the first is rolled back.
