What is deterministic policy gradient?
Deterministic policy gradient: A policy-gradient result for decision rules that output a single continuous action instead of probabilities. The update follows the gradient of the critic's value with respect to the action, chained with the actor's gradient.
Deterministic policy gradient: an example
A robot arm's actor outputs 6 joint torques directly, and the critic says how to nudge them for more return.
