What is at-least-one probability?
At-least-one probability: The chance that an event happens at least once in several independent tries, found by taking 1 minus the chance it never happens: 1 - (1 - p)^n. It grows quickly with the number of tries.
At-least-one probability: an example
If each of 5 independent servers fails on a given day with probability 0.02, chance at least one fails is 1 - 0.98^5, about 0.096.
