What is intent classification?
Intent classification (also called Intent detection): Assigning a user's message to one of a fixed set of goals, such as check_balance or cancel_order, so a system knows what action to take. It is a text classification task usually paired with slot filling.
Intent classification: an example
"Where is my parcel?" is classified as the intent track_order.
