What is design matrix?
Design matrix (also called Feature matrix): The matrix of input features in a regression problem, with one row per observation and one column per feature, often plus a column of ones for the intercept. Model fitting formulas such as the normal equations are written in terms of it.
Design matrix: an example
For 3 houses with area and rooms, X = [[1,1200,3],[1,900,2],[1,1500,4]], the first column being the intercept.
