What is discriminator?
Discriminator: In a GAN, the classifier that scores whether a sample is real or produced by the generator. Its judgement is the training signal for the generator, so an over-strong or over-weak discriminator can destabilise learning.
Discriminator: an example
The discriminator outputs 0.92 for a genuine photo and 0.15 for a generated one, and both scores drive gradient updates.
