What is 3D Gaussian splatting?
3D Gaussian splatting: A scene representation made of millions of coloured 3-D Gaussian blobs that are projected and blended to render images. It reaches high visual quality and real-time rendering speeds after fitting to a set of photographs.
3D Gaussian splatting: an example
A phone video of a room is converted into a set of Gaussians that can be viewed from any angle at interactive frame rates.
