What is acoustic model?
Acoustic model: The part of a speech system that links audio features to linguistic units such as phonemes or characters. In classic pipelines it works with a separate language model; in end-to-end systems it is folded into one network.
Acoustic model: an example
Given a mel spectrogram frame, the acoustic model outputs probabilities over 40 phonemes.
