What is CTC (connectionist temporal classification)?
Connectionist temporal classification (also called CTC): CTC, a loss and decoding method for sequence labelling when input and output lengths differ and alignment is unknown. It lets a model output characters per image column and then merges repeats and blanks into the final text.
Connectionist temporal classification: an example
The frame outputs 'h h - e - l l - l o' collapse to 'hello' after merging repeats and removing blanks.
