What is polynomial features?
Polynomial features (also called PolynomialFeatures): New features made from powers and products of existing ones, such as x^2, x^3 and x1*x2. They let a linear model fit curved relationships and interactions, but the number of columns grows rapidly with degree.
Polynomial features: an example
From features a and b with degree 2, you get a, b, a^2, ab and b^2, letting a linear model fit a curved surface.
