What is ETL?
ETL (also called Extract, Transform, Load): A data integration pattern with three stages: pull records out of source systems, reshape and clean them on a separate processing engine, then write the finished result into a target store such as a warehouse. Transforming before loading keeps bad or sensitive data out of the target.
ETL: an example
A retailer in Pune extracts daily orders from a MySQL database, converts currencies and removes test orders in a Python job, then loads the clean table into the warehouse.
