What is CDC (change data capture)?
Change data capture (also called CDC): Detecting inserts, updates and deletes in a source database, typically by reading its transaction log, and streaming them to other systems. It keeps copies in sync with low load and without repeated full extracts.
Change data capture: an example
Every row change in a PostgreSQL orders table is read from its log and sent to Kafka, then applied to the warehouse.
