What is scheduler?
Scheduler (also called CPU scheduling): The part of the operating system that decides which process or thread gets the CPU and for how long. Its policy balances fairness, responsiveness and priorities so that many programs seem to run at the same time.
Scheduler: an example
When you play music and compile code together, the scheduler gives each a slice of CPU time in turn.
