What is register?
Register: A tiny storage slot built directly into the CPU that holds the values an instruction is currently working on. Registers are the fastest memory in a computer, but there are only a few dozen of them, so compilers decide carefully what to keep there.
Register: an example
An addition instruction typically reads two registers and writes the sum to a third.
