What is boot process?
Boot process (also called Booting): The sequence a computer follows from power-on to a running operating system: firmware tests the hardware, finds a bootable disk, loads the bootloader, which then loads the kernel. Problems at any step prevent the machine from starting.
Boot process: an example
If the boot process cannot find a bootable disk, the screen shows an error such as no operating system found.
