What is cache hit?
Cache hit (also called Cache miss, Hit rate): The case where the data a program requests is already found in a cache, so it is served quickly without going to the slower source. The share of requests that hit is the hit rate, and raising it is a main way to speed up systems.
Cache hit: an example
If 95 of every 100 reads are found in the cache, the hit rate is 95 percent.
