What is CIDR notation?
CIDR notation: A compact way of writing an IP address range as an address followed by a slash and the number of leading bits that identify the network. It replaced rigid address classes and is used in cloud security rules.
CIDR notation: an example
10.0.0.0/16 covers all addresses from 10.0.0.0 to 10.0.255.255, which is 65,536 addresses.
