What is glob pattern?
Glob pattern (also called Wildcard, Globbing): A shorthand for matching many file names at once using wildcard characters, expanded by the shell before the command runs. An asterisk matches any run of characters and a question mark matches exactly one. It is simpler than but different from regular expressions.
Glob pattern: an example
rm *.tmp deletes every file in the folder whose name ends in .tmp; ls data_??.csv matches data_01.csv but not data_100.csv.
