What is support vector?
Support vector: A training point that lies on or inside the gap around a margin-based classifier's boundary, so it directly fixes the position of the boundary. Moving or deleting any other point changes nothing. Few support vectors relative to data size usually signals a simple boundary.
Support vector: an example
In a dataset of 10,000 rows, the fitted model may keep only 300 support vectors.
