What is t-SNE?
t-SNE: t-distributed Stochastic Neighbour Embedding: a technique that maps high-dimensional data to 2-D or 3-D so that similar points stay close, by matching neighbour probabilities. It gives striking cluster plots but distances between clusters and their sizes are not reliable.
t-SNE: an example
Plotting 784-pixel handwritten digits in 2-D where each digit forms its own island.
