What is weak learner?
Weak learner: A simple model that performs only slightly better than random guessing, such as a decision tree with one split. Boosting combines many of these in sequence to form a strong model.
Weak learner: an example
A one-split tree ('salary > 5 lakh?') that is right 58% of the time on a two-class problem.
