What is bayesian network?
Bayesian network: A graph in which nodes are variables and arrows show direct probabilistic dependence, with a probability table at each node. It represents the joint distribution compactly and allows reasoning from evidence to causes.
Bayesian network: an example
A medical network linking 'smoker', 'lung disease' and 'cough' lets you update disease probability once cough is seen.
