What is fundamental theorem of calculus?
Fundamental theorem of calculus: The theorem linking derivatives and integrals: accumulating the area under a rate-of-change curve recovers the total change, and differentiating an accumulated area recovers the original curve. It turns integration into evaluation of an antiderivative at two endpoints.
Fundamental theorem of calculus: an example
If a car's speed is v(t) = 2t km/h, the distance from t = 0 to t = 3 is the integral of 2t, which is 3^2 - 0 = 9 km.
