What is integral?
Integral: A quantity that adds up infinitely many infinitesimal pieces, most commonly the area under a curve between two points. It is the reverse operation of differentiation and is used to compute totals, probabilities from densities and expected values.
Integral: an example
The integral of f(x) = 2x from 0 to 3 is 9, the area of a triangle with base 3 and height 6 under y = 2x.
