What is ETS model?
ETS model (also called Error, Trend, Seasonal): A state-space framework for exponential smoothing in which each of the error, trend and seasonal parts is labelled additive, multiplicative or absent. Choosing among the variants by information criterion gives automatic forecasting with proper prediction intervals.
ETS model: an example
ETS(M,A,M) has multiplicative error, additive trend and multiplicative seasonality.
