What is CTR (click-through rate)?
Click-through rate (also called CTR): The fraction of shown items that users click. Formula: CTR = clicks / impressions. It is a common signal for ranking and evaluating ads and recommendations, though optimising it alone can promote clickbait.
Click-through rate: an example
An ad shown 20,000 times and clicked 500 times has CTR = 500 / 20,000 = 2.5 percent.
