What is welch's t-test?
Welch's t-test: A version of the two-group averages test that does not assume the groups have equal spread and adjusts its degrees of freedom accordingly. It is a safe default because it loses little when spreads are equal.
Welch's t-test: an example
Comparing checkout times where one group has standard deviation 5 seconds and the other 20 seconds calls for this test rather than the pooled version.
