What is co-occurrence matrix?
Co-occurrence matrix (also called Word co-occurrence matrix): A table counting how often each pair of words appears near each other, within a window of a few words or in the same document. Rows can act as simple word vectors and are the raw material for methods such as GloVe.
Co-occurrence matrix: an example
If "chai" appears within two words of "hot" 340 times, the cell (chai, hot) contains 340.
