What is edge computing?
Edge computing: Running computation close to where data is produced or used, on devices or local servers, instead of in a distant central data centre. It cuts delay, saves bandwidth and can keep data local, and is used for on-device AI.
Edge computing: an example
A factory camera runs a defect-detection model on a small local box, avoiding sending video to the cloud.
